Glow in The Dark Paint

So I looked up the glow in the dark paint, and it is super expensive, but I am still thinking we should spring for it. We'll have to see where the budget comes in. But I still want to do it despite it's expense. So here is a picture of a glow in the dark painting, where they made a sky scene. It's cool!

rock lobsters

i believe that the rock lobsters should look like a rock band, but have oil slick on them

rabbit

Interesting costume for the white rabbit to consider.
Perhaps donkeys and elephants as the black and white cards?

MUSHROOM...

this would be a cool mushroom color/pattern but lets not make it mario

Flower Examples

These are harder:
These are very Wonderland looking - I love the colors.
origami magic rose cube
This one's a rose...
origami orchid
Something abstract to think about...
origami carnation
I think I remember how to make these tissue flowers, they're reasonable and easy to make; plus they add dimension without confusing folds.
These flowers use colored paper to add highlights. Just an idea, designed origami paper is relatively easy to find.
Now for my favorite: Lotus! There is something pretty about this one, something interesting.
James Roper had way too much time...
again, way too much time.

Pretty straightforward, easy design; though origami isn't my thing....

P.S.

I want to thank you all for the patience and participation you have put into the idea-generation of this process. Keep it coming- your creativity is what makes this work! And thank you for putting up with my "new-ness" I know it is hard doing a large project with a new teacher who doesn't know things like how to get into buildings. I appreciate your helpfulness! -TOA

Calling All Humans-

So I had some epiphanies last night- specifically about the trees and the space. I can't wait to run them by you all. I will see if I can draw them this weekend and upload them on here. I will also upload the stuff we talked about on Wednesday... But to be honest I'll probably get to it late on Sunday night.

I was thinking about our questions & concerns go around last night too, and I specifically thought about R's call for simplicity and M's desire to make sure we didn't throw out the work we had already done. I want to make sure that both of those concerns are well thought about. We need to work in the platform, the path, the glow in the dark idea for sure! They are such good ideas. But I think we do need to think about simplicity- I am still thinking. We will get the flats on Monday (now that I know we can just put in a code). Wear sneakers! I will buy paint this weekend, and we can paint the flats white.

Although..... I was thinking that maybe we should paint them a tint (which is a color plus white) so green plus white or blue plus white. So there is a little bit of some color. Thoughts??? I was thinking if we painted them shear white it might clash with the walls.

What do you all think? - TOA (aka Ms R)

Awesome Alice set

Oops, forgot the image:
They got the images in the background by projecting
We could have a standard set of white/black back plates and project different images on them to make it seem like there was a new set every time.
This is a really good set for our play
we could use this for our opening scene
nice colors
goes with what we were talking about

Background Spirals

In the animated movie a background of a spiral looking like the cheshire cat's stripes was used during the especially confusing scenes. Perhaps we could project some swirls like these onto the projector screen?

The New Alice Filming

Since I am over obsessed with filmmaking.....yes, I love it all....here is another one!
Notice that the tweedle dum doesn't look right...The one in the twdledee suit does both roles, the other man is just there to help with timing and everything.

Blog Post Due Tomorrow

Tomorrow, the sun will come out, the class will go on, and some people have yet to do their blog posts. Please remember participation is the primary part of your grade this semester. If for some reason you can't seen to post, send me your pics, and I will post them for you. Thanks -Miss R (aka The Other Alice)

Moderators

There are friendly moderators now helping us all to sppelll, and remember labels. :) They are here to be helpful, so be friendly........ Friendliness isn't fiendly, and fiendliness is friendly. Kind Words, Good Thoughts, and Brilliant Ideas from all.......

Queen's Castle

The Queen's Castle - a twist on the old movie, but seems to be the closest to the old movie.

Alice Green Screen

This is a look into how the new Alice is made - with a green screen. Everything was green screen in wonderland, but everything on 'earth' is filmed live. See the lines on Alice? This is lighting to make it look like branches are casting a shadow on her. Get it? She's in the forest!

Mushroom Forest

In new movie, there's not really a forest of trees, there's a MUSHROOM forest! In the first set (garden/park) there could be mushroom for hints of wonderland.

Alice and Caterpillar encounter

Should this be a foreshadowing moment in the play or simply a transition into the 'darkness' of wonderland?
